A new development incorporating 234 affordable housing units over landscaped podiums with multi-storey parking levels and 16,000 sq.ft of office/commercial accommodation below.
The design incorporates the need for a landmark development on a high profile gateway site into Hemel Hempstead, balanced with the need to respect the scale of the neighbouring housing.
The apartments have been designed to shield the raised garden areas set back from the road with the mass of the buildings stepping down towards the rear near the existing housing. The layouts incorporate a high percentage of dual aspect apartments providing views to the communal gardens.
The design also needed to address its proximity to a very busy road and the impact of noise and air pollution.
