Dakin Flathers Ltd
Dakin Flathers Ltd is one of the largest bandsaw and bandknife blade manufacurers in Europe based at the Green Lane Industrial Estate near Featherstone, West Yorkshire.
GNA were appointed to design the new extensions. The Phase 2 works include a new two storey office pod extension providing an additional 7,000 sq.ft of space and in addition the existing warehouse and manufacturing floor space has been extended by over 13,000 sq.ft.
Phase 3 consists a new high bay unit with a floor area of 35,000 sq.ft located on the neighbouring plot and linked to the existing facility
The design challenge was to provide a modern new extension that compliments the existing structure which was addressed by using similar cladding materials and building forms providing a seamless link between the old and new areas of the development.
