Silcoates Masterplan
The Practice first began working with Silcoates School in the late 1980's and over the course of the following decades a loose masterplan was formed to help the school to become a centre for learning that would endure for the next few decades
The school has a strong historical context but over the years had accumulated many extensions that were now outdated or under used which now blocked or complicated circulation in and around the school.
The masterplan looked at which of these extensions could be removed to improve the flow of students and staff and in so doing reunify the school buildings reinforcing the campus tradition.
Externally the sports facilities also underwent the same process of re-evaluation with contributions from staff, pupils and parents. New facilities were implemented building on the strong sporting traditions of Silcoates.
