Garnett Netherwood Architects (GNA), in collaboration with SEJC Consulting Engineers and Lanview, successfully delivered a new commercial unit for Linnell Volume LLP within an eight-month timeline. The unit, designed to accommodate B1 (business), B2 (general industrial), and B8 (storage and distribution) uses, is a key addition to the Integra Milton Keynes Business Park in Linford Wood, complementing the client’s portfolio of eight existing units. This project further strengthens the park’s status as a hub for industrial and commercial activity.
In keeping with the aesthetic of the surrounding units, GNA designed the new warehouse to harmonise with the existing structures, utilising similar external materials, such as metal cladding, and featuring a distinctive red canopy at the main entrance. The visual cohesion was essential to maintain a unified appearance across the site, and the new unit fits seamlessly within the business park’s architectural context.
The new warehouse offers both practicality and modernity, with an open-plan mezzanine office space that overlooks the full-height production area below. This design choice not only maximizes operational efficiency but also enhances internal visibility and communication within the workspace.
GNA took responsibility for advancing the technical design of the building, ensuring it met current building regulations and was suitable for construction. Jess, the project architect from GNA, noted: “Our goal was to deliver a contemporary yet functional space that aligned with the client’s existing infrastructure while ensuring that the design adhered to rigorous regulatory standards. Working closely with SEJC and Lanview allowed us to streamline the process, ensuring that every technical requirement was met without compromising the aesthetic and operational goals of the project.”
The new unit enhances Linnell Volume LLP’s portfolio, expanding their capacity while maintaining the visual and functional consistency that has become a hallmark of the Integra Milton Keynes Business Park.
